Many people, including patients, are told to eat 'better', eat more fiber from vegetables and fruit, avoid high fat and salt etc. Whether it is the physician or nutritionist the prescription is much the same; unfortunately, it is a prescription that can't be filled in the pharmacy! This is where this book comes in. Medical practitioners and nutritionists tell patients what to eat; Chef Nancy shows them HOW to do it so they experience the DELICIOUS wonders of whole food plant based cuisine that is the centerpiece of a Plant-Based Lifestyle.

A plant-based diet lifestyle begins with food choices, but also includes several other alternative and holistic aspects that keep our bodies in balance, spiritually, mentally, emotionally and physically. This Lifestyle includes eating healthy foods, hydrating our bodies properly, moderate exercise that research has shown to be highly effective in healing our bodies and moving us forward to health and wellness. Everyone has the potential to live long, healthy and happy lives, with no side effects from invasive treatments and pharmaceutical drugs.

These books present simple, low cost, simple steps to achieve a Plant Based Lifestyle. It describes how Nancy became one of the best teaching chefs in Orlando and her tells of her personal journey and evolution as a Plant Based Cuisine expert. The initial story describes how Nancy and her husband, Skip, overcame serious illnesses to become healthy once again. The recipes are templates for a variety of meals that may be easily adapted and varied according to your own personal taste.

A quote from Charlotte Gerson from the Gerson Institute:
“You can't keep one disease and heal two others - when the body heals it heals everything”

Afternoon Tea Party ~ Plant Based Cuisine
Tea rooms are hidden gems located in old Victorian homes or perhaps a Bed and Breakfast or Premier Hotel. Tea rooms offer an escape from the busy world around us, a day of tranquility and opportunity to spend a peaceful afternoon with family and friends. In my book you will find our tea journey begins with the “Traditional English Afternoon Tea” originated by Anna, 7th Duchess of Bedford, where afternoon tea consisted of a savory dish, baked entrées, such as scones served with clotted cream, lemon curd and fruit preserves. It is a British culinary tradition of socialites sitting down for a mid-day meal of tea and treats and also involved things like manners, lace, fancy attire and dainty foods.   Tea favorites were black teas like Earl Gray, and Assam, as well as herbal teas like Chamomile and Mint.

Very few entrées if any are completely plant-based without the addition of these ingredients. Perhaps in time menus will offer more options, but until that time I want to share my plant-based recipes for those who would like to enjoy their own afternoon tea at home. I hope you relish all the delectable recipes in this book not just for afternoon tea, but for any special occasion you may be entertaining.
